Simple sensor integration into Fanuc CNC systems
Lenord+Bauer is expanding its portfolio of digital MiniCODER encoders with a variant featuring a serial interface for Fanuc drive series. The bearingless encoder of the GEL 244xF series enables direct connection to Fanuc αi SP/SPB/SP-D systems and offers a resolution of 24 bit.
The digital Fanuc αi interface also extends the classic speed and position measurement in machine tools to include the acquisition of operating status data. This includes warning and error messages for early detection of critical operating conditions, as well as temperature values from the area around the bearing point. This enables the MiniCODER GEL 244xF to support condition monitoring of motor spindles and increases transparency during ongoing machine operation.
The GEL 244xF is designed for precise speed and position measurement in machine tool construction. Thanks to jitter-free position value generation and latency-free transmission, it ensures high control quality across the entire speed range. The maximum permissible speed is up to 100,000 rpm.
The non-contact magnetic scanning ensures wear-free and electrically maintenance-free operation. This makes the robust built-in encoder particularly suitable for demanding applications in motor spindles and confined installation spaces. The compact housing, IP68 protection rating, and high shock and vibration resistance enable reliable use even under challenging ambient conditions.
